Warranty
At ELITE Fenders, we stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of every product we make. Our fenders are designed to handle the demands of real boating life—and we back that with a 2-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Even though every fender is pressure test for over 48 hours before we package it up, sometimes stuff happens. Here are a couple of things you can do first to check that it's not something really simple. You can find these at the FAQ here.
What We Cover
Our warranty covers manufacturer defects that affect the performance or function of your ELITE Fender. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Leaking seams that occur under normal use
- Valve malfunction that prevents proper inflation or deflation
- Failed seam welds that were not caused by external abrasion or misuse
- Excessive air loss when new (under correct inflation and pressure)
If your fender arrives defective or fails during normal use within the first two years, we will repair or replace it at our discretion.
What’s Not Covered
While our fenders are built tough, not all damage is a result of a defect. Fenders are there to protect your boat, and so take can take quite a beating themselves. The following are not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty:
- D-ring tear-off due to excessive load or misuse
- Punctures, cuts, or abrasions caused by sharp objects, dock hardware, nails, or dragging
- Damage due to over-inflation beyond the recommended PSI
- Improper handling, anchoring, or tying techniques
- UV or sun damage caused by extended exposure beyond normal use
About D-Ring Tear-Offs: A Built-In Safety Feature
We understand D-ring failure can be frustrating—but in certain cases, it's by design.
ELITE Fenders use marine-grade 316 stainless steel D-rings, securely welded into reinforced PVC anchor points. These are rated to withstand high tension. However, in the event of extreme load—such as a sudden surge, hard docking impact, or tension from attached lines—the D-ring may intentionally tear away.
Why? Because in that moment, it’s better to sacrifice the D-ring than risk damage to the cleat, rail, or stanchion on the other end of your line. A torn-off D-ring signals that something went seriously wrong with the tie-up—not the product itself.
If your D-ring has torn off during a docking incident, we encourage you to inspect your lines, tie-up strategy, and surrounding hardware before reuse. Also, please reach out to use to discuss your options.
